Five Favorite Things Rascal Recommends

Hi, I’m Rascal, a Border Collie that has 10 years of experience in this beautiful world.  I live in rural Missouri with my amazing family that I love and protect with every ounce of my being.  My humans are good at getting me things I love; these are the top things that make me happy!

1. Soft Bed

You can’t chase cats, geese, or children without a proper night’s rest.  Once Mom and Dad got me this incredible bed, the Vibrant Life, Bolstered Bliss Dog Bed. I have been sleeping soundly and have less noisy outbursts in the middle of the night.  Before I felt like I was on patrol 24/7; this bed gives me a feeling of safety and security, as it has sides and a back that are very soft.  It has lots of zippers where part of the padding can be removed  and washed if ‘ahem’ there is a clean up necessary.

2. Red Chew-Toy

My favorite red rubber chew toy from Titan Busy Bounce Treat Dispenser  creates a lot of enjoyment for me.  It can be filled with snacks that I can spend a lot of time figuring out how to remove, which is good for my brain and calms my anxious tendencies.  It is extremely durable and has lasted for a quite a few years now, which is not usually the case for my toys

3. Dura-Play Squeak Ball

My other toy that I love is the Hartz Dura-Play Squeak Ball.  This has also lasted a long time. The squeaker remains intact and that is important because some days there is no point if there is no squeak.  We spend endless hours playing fetch-the-ball with this durable, natural-latex ball that additionally has ridges that massage my gums when I am chewing on it. 

4. Pet Grooming Kit and Vacuum

My Parents and I are loving the Afloia Grooming Kit and Vacuum I used to be a hot, furry, mess. I shed everywhere, especially in the spring and summer, and well, the fall too. Did you know, Border Collies along with some other breeds like German Shepherds and Golden Retrievers, should NOT be shaved because of their two-layer fur.  This helps us regulate temperature in both the summer and winter.  Completely shaving our breeds will mess up our systems because our fur will not grow back properly, and could pose a problem regulating our temperature. The Afloria Pet Grooming Kit is great because it grooms us dogs and cats while not having to shave us.  It contains a vacuum and hose, 8 tools including, grooming brush, deshedding tool, cleaning brush, nozzle, electric wireless clippers-for matted hair, clipper blade and attachments, paw trimmer, and pet nail grinder.  That is a lot of bang for the buck! I despise the house vacuum, but this is super! I look forward to grooming time and sometimes I even fall asleep while being groomed.

5. No-Spill Dog Bowl

Okay, so this is actually one of my mom’s favorites.  I really prefer to stick my paw in my dish and dump it all over the floor, it makes her crazy, but I don’t know why.  Neater Pet Brands Stainless steel no-skid and non-tip pet bowl. These have been the best bowls ever!  They are durable and easy to clean and keep the food and water where they belong.
